Rules

The 2008 NASCAR season consists of 36 total races. This year we are once again making it a Race-to-the-Chase just like NASCAR, except we will have 20 contestants in the final chase. The object is to be in the top 20 in points after the first 26 races in order to qualify for the Race-to-the-Chase. After the first 26 races, the top 20 participants will ALL have their points reset to 10,000 points each. At that point, only these top 20 participants (Unless there is a tie - See "Ties" below) will be eligible for the top 10 payout positions which will be determined by the final 10 races of the NASCAR season. Money will then be distributed based on the following percentages:

1st=25%,  2nd=15%,  3rd=12%,  4th=10%,  5th=9%,  6th=8%,  7th=6%,  8th=5%,  9th=4%,  10th=3%,  21st=3%,  50th=$30.00,  & Last=$30.00

The payout will be made from the total money collected minus the 6 bonus races @ $30.00 each.

"TIES"
If there is, by chance, a tie for the 20th spot after the first 26 races, all those included in the tie will be in the Chase and all those below that spot will be fighting for the 21st pay position. Example: if 20th, 21st, and 22nd positions all have 1,500 points, then there will be 22 people in the chase fighting for the 1st through 10th pay positions. For those who did not make the Chase, at the end of the season the one who finishes in the 23rd position will receive the pay for the 21st position, but the 50th and the LAST positions will be the actual person in the 50th and LAST positions.

ALL TIES IN THE FINAL RACE-TO-THE-CHASE WILL BE DIVIDED UP EVENLY AMONG PARTICIPANTS INVOLVED IN THE TIE. Example - If 1st place & 2nd place tie, then 1st place money & 2nd place money will be added together and then split among the two who tied.

You must circle ONE driver in each of the numbered groups. You keep the same TEAM throughout the year regardless of the driver changes that may be made. If the TEAM drops out of competition, you may NOT replace it.

The scoring for each race will be as follows:

  • 1st place = 20 points:
  • 2nd place = 19 points:
  • And so on until 20th place = 1 point
  • 1 point will be awarded for the pole position
  • 1 point will be awarded for the driver who leads the most laps
  • 1 point will be awarded for the last place finisher
  • 10 points will be awarded to the person with the most points for the week. If there is a tie, no matter how many are included in the tie, all those in the tie will get 10 points.

There will be 6 bonus races throughout the season that will pay $30.00 per race. The winner is the one with the most total points for that race. Any ties in the bonus races will result in the $30.00 being split among those who tied. The bonus races are as follows:

1. February 18 - Daytona
2. April 1 - Martinsville
3. May 27 - Charlotte
4. July 29 - Indianapolis
5. August 25 - Bristol
6. October 7- Talladega

The cost to participate is $30.00 per sheet. Money MUST be collected with the sheet!! NO SHEET WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 5:00 PM EST FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2008.
